 Positive Approach Shop opens in Blandford There was a real party atmosphere when the Positive Approach charity shop opened in Blandford. Soul music by The Wonderband upped the tempo as Dorset Primary Care Trust chair Anne Thomas, assisted by Blandford Mayor Steve Hitchins, declared the shop in Tabernacle Walk officially open The Shop is run by West Dorset Mental Health Forum who lease the shop, and is operated by voluntary workers. Positive Approach sells new-to-you clothes and furniture, household items, bric-a-brac and pretty hand-made jewellery. Service users are involved in running the shop on a day to day basis, from selling goods to ordering stock and pricing. Information leaflets on mental health and well-being are available in the shop, which aims to raise awareness in the community about mental illness and reduce stigma. |
