The Dorset Knob Throwing Fest
THE third Dorset Knob Throwing and Frome Valley Food Fest is being held in Cattistock on Sunday 2nd May. To the uninitiated the Dorset Knob is a small spherical biscuit about the size of a golf ball produced by Moores, Dorset bakers since 1860. On 2nd May, as well as throwing the Dorset Knobs, there will be all sorts of wonderfully wacky Dorset Knob games including Knob & Spoon Races, Guess the Weight of the Big Knob, Knob Darts, Spot the Knob, a Knob Hunt and 'Dorset Blue Vinny Cheese Chucking'. This unique new Dorset game will be every bit as challenging as Dorset Knob Throwing. It requires two participants skilfully tossing and catching the famous Dorset Blue Vinny Cheese.

There will also be more than 40 local food producers' stands offering a wide range of delicious local food for you to taste and buy. Some of the suppliers will be introducing new food lines for you to experience this year including a new product combining Dorset Knobs and chocolate by local award-winning, artisan chocolate maker, Chococo.

The event is supported by Moores and Dorset Blue Cheese and Soup, the makers of Dorset Blue Vinny cheese, together with Direct from Dorset and the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership. It all happens in the centre of the picturesque village of Cattistock, which lies midway between Yeovil and Dorchester. Visitors are advised to approach from the Maiden Newton direction and follow the signs for car parking. For further details contact Nigel or Shelley Collins on 01300 320404.
